The Three Best Investments For Beauty Business Owners

Apr 08, 2023

Does investing in your beauty biz scare the ‘ish out of you?! We’ve all been there, girlfriend. Trust me, I know that making investments into your business can feel extremely uncertain and a bit terrifying. But, just remember, growth does not take place within your comfort zone. If you want to be able to reach the next level of success in your beauty biz, you have to take action! Taking action and making new investments can look a lot of different ways. Over the years I’ve made different kinds of investments in my own personal growth and into my business. Some of those investments were better than others, but I always learned something valuable along the way. I’m a major advocate for continuing to challenge yourself by doing things that stretch you into the next chapter of your life and business. After going over all the different investments I’ve made throughout my journey as a beauty biz babe, I saw a few common themes. I’ve compiled a list of the three best investments I’ve ever made for my business to share with you, so, let’s talk about it!

Education

Girl… sister.. friend. If there's one thing I want you to understand, it’s that you should never stop learning! I personally love to learn new skills and continuously grow my knowledge when it comes to my craft. Not only that, but when I was a newbie within the entrepreneurial space, it was imperative for me to invest in education when it came to growing and scaling a business. Knowledge is power in the beauty industry. It’s been a game changer to invest in learning from those in the industry that know more than I do and are able to teach me the skills necessary to get to the next phase of growth. You have to put yourself in proximity to the people who have done what you want to do and learn from them. Remember - success leaves clues!

As a beauty entrepreneur, education in growing your business is only a section of what makes up your success. Your clients trust you with their appearance, so it’s your responsibility to invest in your education in technical skill as well! Just because you got certified in the very beginning of your business, doesn’t mean that your education should stop there! Continuously seeking out opportunities to educate yourself in your craft will expose you to different skill sets that will allow you to elevate your own service.

High Quality Products

This type of investment can be applied to all different careers within the beauty industry! Whether you’re a spray tan artist, a lash artist or even a hairstylist, do not skimp on quality when it comes to the products you use on your clients! Quality products equals quality service. If you want to attract high quality dream clients, make sure to step up the quality on your end first!

Using high quality products not only affects the results your clients receive from their service, it also impacts the perception that future clients have on your business. Using quality products allows you to charge more for a luxury service and therefore, will attract the type of clientele that is willing to pay for a higher level of service, products and results!

Hiring Help

YOU GUYS! Hiring has been one of the hardest investments I’ve made in my beauty business thus far, but also one of the best! When I decided to let go of the reins on my business and hire my first employees and contractors, it felt very scary. However, hiring and delegation has allowed me to grow the business that affords me the freedom to live the life I truly want. One common theme I always hear from entrepreneurs in the beauty space when it comes to the reason they wanted to launch their business is the desire for more freedom! When you’re a one woman show, achieving the freedom that you crave is nearly impossible if you want to continue to scale your business.

Although the process of understanding how to go about hiring the right people was a learning curve, it is one that I would do a million times over because it’s brought an extreme level of flow and ease into my life and business that wouldn’t have been obtainable without having a high functioning, dedicated team.

I live for sharing the struggles and lessons I’ve stumbled across through my years as a beauty business entrepreneur.
