3 Ways To Elevate Your Client Experience

Although you may already know that outstanding customer service is the key to your client’s hearts, you may have a difficult time finding ways to stand out as a service provider so that you can “WOW” your clients every single time. It doesn't have to be complicated to step up your game so that your clients can’t wait to come see you again. Here are three steps that you can implement into your routine now to give your clients the best possible experience and outcome! 

1. Use Prep Spray

Using prep spray is like having spray tan insurance because it adds that extra drip of hydration to your client’s skin while also helping to remove any residue or sweat that may be lingering on the skin before you start spraying. This step not only adds that extra moisture but also helps to even out the tan to increase the quality overall! Explaining to your client why you’re doing this step at the very beginning of their tanning process and the benefits it adds to the quality of their service will have them feeling like you’re going above and beyond to help protect the integrity of their investment with you!

2. Use Drying Powder

Everyone hates that sticky after-tan feeling, so as the service provider you can do your best to create an experience that allows your clients to feel as comfortable as possible after their tan by using certain products and techniques! Drying powder, for example,  is a powder that can be applied to the skin post tan to help prevent the “spray tan smell” while also helping to reduce smudging. This drying powder can be thought of as a setting powder for the body, just like if you were to use a setting powder after doing a full face of makeup. It keeps everything in place so that the tan can develop in the most beautiful, natural looking way. Drying  powder can also be used throughout the tanning process if you have a plus size client with a larger chest that may need a little extra attention to ensure there is no transfer or smudging during the service. Adding this little step at the end of the appointment will allow your clients to know that you are extremely detail oriented and will go the extra mile to make sure they get the best result possible even after they leave your spray tan tent or studio. 

3. In The Details

Now is the time to pull out the stops with the “extras” during your appointments. Some of these details can take the form of having disposable underwear available, nose plugs, hairnets, lip protection and sticky feet. Disposables not only are essential for keeping the service sanitary, but having options such as disposable spray tan thongs and bandeaus allows you to offer your clients options that will make them more comfortable during their spray tan experience. These small details can be part of the puzzle that sets you apart as a knowledgeable, prepared artist! In other words, these small gestures and details can really make your clients think “oh snap, this girl knows what she’s doing!”
